SALE 2016
Waratah Sale Report 2016
Waratah Speckle Park’s 3rd Annual Sale was conducted on Monday 11th July on property at Guyra. Progressive young stud master Laiton Turnham welcomed visitors and repeat buyers to the Turnham family’s annual sale. He introduced the studs three new AI sires and also endorsed the catalogue of females on offer.
A relatively new breed to our Australian continent, the Speckles have had a stellar rise in popularity as breeders enjoy success with carcass competitions, custom feeding opportunities, show sales and crossbreeding opportunities with established herds.
The breeds origins in Canada see that countries breeding programmes as the main source for Australian stud breeders and by travelling to Canada and inspecting breed leading genetics, Laiton has been able to initiate and capitalise on the breeds development here in Australia.
The cool temperate climate of Guyra is a natural fit with the breeds origins so it is no surprise that the constitution and performance of the Waratah Speckle Park cattle is now making an impression on those who are using the genetics to breed and upgrade.
